World Book Day 2016
Posted on: 22 February 2016 wordlbookday

This is the 19th year there’s been a World Book Day, and on 3rd March 2016 children of all ages will come together to appreciate reading. Very loudly and very happily. The main aim of World Book Day in the UK and Ireland is to encourage children to explore the pleasures of books and reading by providing them with the opportunity to have a book of their own.

And of course its Dress-Up time at school, most schools ask children to dress as their favourite character for the day!

And now for some ideas.

 Dorothy from Wizard of Oz

A classic tale for girls to dress as Dorothy – a blue and white gingham dress, some ribbons in your hair, a soft toy doggie and some red sparkly shoes – hey presto.

                                         Cinderella

How about Cinderella with a pretty blue dress just like she wore in the film, a princess tiara and some sparkly shoes.

101 Dalmations

101 Dalmatian’s is a great book and Cruella a super ‘Baddie’ with a nice black and white puppy dog under her arm.

 Wicked Witch of the West

Wicked Witch of the West – the prequel to Wizard of Oz is a good choice and some green face paint with your Halloween costumes can be used!

                                                                                                                                            Snow White

Then there are the best fairy tales of which Snow White is our favourite with her gold sparkly shoes and red hair accessories.

Just a few to think about, we would love to see what your princess dressed up as.
