World Penguin Day coincides with the annual northward migration of penguins. This happens each year on or around April 25th. Who doesn’t love penguins with their adorable waddle, beautiful markings and quirky personalities? We do so we are celebrating their very own day by giving a free gift , on the 25th April 2016 only, to anyone who can find our penguin, just let us know by emailing to enquires@thesparkleclub.co.uk  – where he is and what he is doing, your name and address – and we will send you a free headband, no purchase necessary.

Penguin Facts

• Penguins are found in Antarctica, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Chile, Peru, the Falkland Islands, and the Galapagos Islands. Elsewhere, they are only found in zoos. No penguins live in the North Pole
• Penguins are birds that do not fly. Over millions of years a penguin’s wings have evolved and instead of flying they work as flippers to help them swim. Penguins can swim 20 miles per hour.
• Penguins can dive to a depth of 1,850 feet (565 meters). Deeper than any other bird! Penguins spend 75% of their life at sea
• When penguins find mates they sing to each other so they can recognise their voices and they stay with that mate a very long time.
• Penguins are good listeners. They can find a family member in a crowd of 80,000.
• Penguins can be playful.  They like to go tobogganing. They will lay on their tummy and slide through the ice and snow. Penguins will also dive off cliffs into the water, get out and dive again for fun.
